Kid Funnies

One day Richard had the chorus of "Let It Be" by theBeatles stuck in his head and was singing those 3 words over and over again. Liam started to sing a long later and we thought it was cute. When we listenedcloser it got even cuter. This was his version: "lellow bee, lellow bee, lellow bee" (translation: yellow bee)

One night we were all cuddling on the couch and Brielle was trying to hold Liams hand. As soon as he noticed her trying to hold his hand, he grabbed it and said "thank you sister. 'sup dude?"

As part of Liam's bedtime routine, I rock him while holding him and tell him how much I love him. As part of that I tell him that he is me "very special Liam" because he understands the word "special". One night he gave me a big hug and whispered super lovingly, "special mom, my special mom. Special mom, special mom." over and over again.

I was standing on a chair trying to reach something high and all of a sudden I felt a little hand wrap around my ankle. Then Liam said "mommy, I gotcha. I gotcha." I looked down to see him smiling at me, and when I thanked him he responded with "your welcome mom"

One day I was telling him that he can't eat his toothpaste because it might make his tummy hurt. He looked at me with a matter-of-fact face and said "Actually mom, toothpaste makes my tummy happy!"

Sometimes when he supposed to be going to sleep, he will get out of his bed, come to the door and yell underneath either "Hello? Anybody in there?" or "Mom, I am talking!!"

Liam and I were about to go outside to play and had this conversation:

Me: Liam do you want to put on your shoes?
Liam: No, I just want to wear my toes. (aka: go barefoot)
(Liam at 27 months)

Liam wanted a little piece of gum and when I gave it to him he said in an overly enthusiastic voice, "Thank you Mom! I am SO proud of you! I am SO proud of you! Good job!"
(Liam at 27 months)

When he says "look at me" it sounds just like "yucky me!"

I taught Liam had to hold up 2 fingers and say how old he was this afternoon. Later I wanted Liam to show Richard and I asked him how old he was. He held up all of his fingers and said "I am 2 months old!!"

One afternoon Brielle was playing with a calculator and when Liam walked up he yelled to me "Look mom! Sister is texting!"

I was outside with the kids on the play place at our complex and I heard some of the older boys being mean to Liam. So I went over there and told them to stop and be nice to him. Later I overheard them talking to him again and he shot them down with "yeah but I got my mommy!" Glad to know he knows I will stick up for him :)

One day I was on the phone trying to get a hold of a company and they were going through the options "press 1 for........ press 2 for........ press 3 for....." and Liam came up and yelled into the phone "BLAST OFF!!"

(in Richards words) McKenna and I took Liam to roast marshmallows at the Park for dinner. After Liam watched one marshmallow catch fire and melt, he looked distrubed, then said "marshmellow sad!" at which point he grabbed my marshmallow stick (with the attached marshmallow) and the bag of marshmallows and ran off to save them. I wasnt allowed to roast any more marshmallows.

We were talking about nicknames for Brielle and jokingly Richard said "we should call her poops". Liam pipped up out of no where and said "OOO catchy!!"
